A fantastic Award Graduation on the Isle of Wight
A fantastic graduation on the Isle of Wight recognising the achievements of Acacia’s learners
Acacia Training and Development offers a range of Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care on the Isle of Wight and runs a yearly graduation for its learners.
On Thursday, the 10th of November, 42 Somerset Care staff from the Isle of Wight who have achieved a qualification in the last 18 months, were given their certificates during this award ceremony. Their success stories are a great example of how people can gain qualifications and support the local community. 28 graduates from Inver House achieved a Level 2 in Dementia Care. The rest achieved Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships and Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care. Many of those who achieved their Intermediate Apprenticeship are now moving to the next level and some have been promoted into new roles. Many who did the Dementia Certificate are just about to also complete a Safe Handling of Medication Certificate.
A presentation tea was held in the dining room of Tree Tops, the new Dementia Unit at Inver House, Bembridge. The certificates were presented by Diane Allen, the Operation Manager for the Isle of Wight homes.
It is a great opportunity to once a year recognising the hard work that goes into achieving these qualifications not just by the learners, assessors and Quality Assurers, but also the support the homes give in releasing staff and providing them with learning experiences.
A big thank you to Sarah Woodford and her team at Inver House, for hosting this event and laying on a lovely selection of cakes during this graduation.
