Traineeships are a new Government programme designed to prepare young people, like yourself, for their future careers by helping them to become ready for the world of work.

A traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience that is focused on giving young people the skills, confidence and experience that employers are looking for.

At its core are work preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high-quality work experience placement.

We will give you the skills and experience you need to get your first step on the employment ladder. Join us for an exciting work experience programme (from 6 weeks to 5 months) to

include:

2. A fun and team building programmeMotiv-8 SW trainee programme

Traineeships Programme (6 weeks to 5 months)

Acacia Training and Development is offering a traineeship programme to help kick start your career. Learners will improve their employability skills and gain useful work experience whilst brushing up on Maths and English. Most learners will be better placed to gain an Apprenticeship position at the end of their programme.

Build your confidence with a programme at our Acacia centres. The regular programme involves group work, role plays, health, fitness, a qualification in First Aid and Health and Safety and much more. This programme is funded. Call 0800 090 2155 to find out more.

3. You will gain necessary skills for employment

traineesEach traineeship will last from six weeks up to a maximum of five months and will provide essential work preparation training including English and maths (required for anyone who doesn’t already have a GCSE A*-C equivalent) alongside a high-quality work experience placement provided by the employer.

Large employers and smaller local businesses are all being encouraged to participate in enabling young people to gain the necessary skills across different sectors.

While employers are not required to pay trainees, they will be encouraged to support with meals and travel costs and all training will be funded by the Government.

4. A better chance to become an Apprentice and employedTrainee at work

At the end of the work experience, trainees receive a job interview if a role
becomes available or a reference and an exit interview with the company.

According to a study by ICM Research, 60% of unemployed young people say they are worried about not being able to get a job in the future and less than four in ten (38%) believe they are ready for work.

Traineeships include a high-quality work experience placement with an employer which will provide meaningful insight into the world of work. With nearly three-quarters of employers reporting that experience is a critical or significant factor when recruiting, this will be an invaluable addition to any young person’s CV.

Traineeships give young people the skills they need to secure a job and succeed in employment, with the content tailored to their individual needs. The work preparation training will ensure young people develop the abilities and confidence needed to take the first step in their career, such as an apprenticeship, while the English and maths support will increase employability and earning potential.
